Onze route start bij de voordeur, toevallig ook daadwerkelijk aan \u00e9\u00e9n van de Jakobswegen in Nederland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hieronder staat een plaatje van de route zoals we hebben voor ogen hebben. Van Sassenheim naar Finesterre is dit zo’n 3000 km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nederland<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Onze eerste stappen zullen we dus zetten in onze eigen voortuin. We trekken de deur achter ons dicht en we zitten op \u00e9\u00e9n van de Nederlandse Jakobswegen. Omdat de offici\u00eble route in Nederland door wat steden gaat zoals Den Haag en Rotterdam, zullen we in Nederland onze eigen route plannen. Een beetje tussen de grote steden door. Ons eerste doel is Bouwel in Belgi\u00eb, ongeveer 186 km van Sassenheim. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belgi\u00eb<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Vanaf Bouwel lopen we naar Westerlo. Vanaf daar zullen we het offici\u00eble pad gaan volgen, als eerste de Via Monastica<\/a>. We zullen deze route voor ongeveer 200 km volgen tot in Rocroi, net over de Franse grens.<\/p>\n\n\n

Frankrijk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

In Rocroi start de Via Campaniensis<\/a>, een pad dat ons tot in de Pelgrimsstad Veselay brengt. Dit pelgrimspad is ongeveer 400 km lang. In Veselay heb je de keuze: of je kiest de Via Lemovicensis<\/a> of je neemt de weg naar Le Puy-en-Velay<\/a> en vanaf daar de Via Podiensis<\/a>. Onze voorkeur gaat vooralsnog uit naar de tweede optie. Dwars over het Centraal Massief naar Le Puy-en-Velay en dan schuin doorsteken naar de uiterste zuid-west punt van Frankrijk, vlakbij de Pyrenee\u00ebn: Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. Deze zware tocht kent veel hoogtemeters en is bij elkaar zo’n 1223 km lang.<\/p>\n\n\n

Spanje<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Eenmaal in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port steek je de Pyrenee\u00ebn over naar Hendaye <\/a>en gaan we de Camino de Norte<\/a> lopen. De noordelijke route langs de Golf van Biskaye. Deze route schijnt rustiger te zijn en ook wat koeler. Gezien de tijd waarin we daar zullen zijn, juli\/augustus, zal wat verkoeling best wel lekker zijn. Na 844 km zijn we dan in Santiago de Compostella. Op ongeveer 2\/3 van de Camino del Norte, net voor Gijon, kunnen we de Camino Primitivo<\/a> nemen. Deze historische weg schijnt erg mooi te zijn en brengt ons ook in Santiago.<\/p>\n

Als laatste zullen we nog zo’n 90 km naar Finesterre <\/a>lopen, het einde van de Wereld.<\/p>\n
